Ovelia Alvarez· 5 months agoIt’s a little on the loud side but that feels like most of the city nowadays. The food was nice and warm. It’s a nice menu meaning they have different options you just don’t see anywhere. Staff was nice. Recommend having reservations. Super cute place. Restrooms were clean which always extra points
D R-K· 2 months agoJack's wife Freda was my friend, who is a local resident, recommendation as the perfect place to eat straight from JFK. I made reservations (it's recommended ) but though we missed ours, we were luckily able to get in. The space needs a shout out. I fell in love with art on the wall, especially one piece that led to some fun art interpretation conversation with Freda's great staff. The light filled space and comfortable seating were the backdrop for the creative, fresh and beautifully plated dishes on a menu that I will happily revisit upon my return journey to ATL. I had the rosewater waffle. I've never encountered a waffle flavor that was so romantic in nature. I had to try it and was a winner. Fluffy, light and a perfect size with creme and seasonal berries. It was covered in powdered sugar and for me this is what I realize many other places hid behind. Freda took their waffle and made it for an adult that has a softer side. My drink was their lemonade with fresh mint, but the real star was the cantaloupe juice! My friend Jose chose that and the look on his face upon his first sip made me want to try it. But I had my own little surprise when Mike, their barista and the mind behind the cantaloupe juice, offered me a taste of the watermelon juice. Fresh, light and perfect on a hot humid NYC summers day. After my rosewater waffle I wanted a bit more so I added, 2 poached eggs with roasted tomatoes, haloumi and gremolata on sourdough toast. The execution of this deceptively simple dish was another showcase of the talent in the kitchen. My friend, chose Maya's Breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs. He loved his and was raving about each component. Another excellent choice beautifully plated. What a way to start my day trip to NYC! We were fueled fir the days adventures and the fun and laughs we shared with Eleanor our hostess, Mike our beverage and barista guru along with manager Josh made my first day back in NYC very memorable. To think they have 3 other locations!. You never forget your first and they all made sure I won't forget them. Bon Appetite.
Linda P· 5 months agoJack’s Wife Freda is always one of my favorite brunch spots. The atmosphere is really nice, with good music and a cozy vibe. I’m so happy the outdoor seating is back for the warmer days — it makes the experience even better. It’s definitely a great place for brunch, but I also like that they stay open through dinner. I ordered the zucchini fries as an appetizer, and they were so good — perfectly crunchy and served with a delicious sauce. I’ll definitely be ordering them again next time. For my main dish, I had the Prego Roll with French fries, which is my go-to whenever I eat here. The meat is cooked really well, tender, and flavorful, and the bread is also really good and fresh. I always enjoy coming here for brunch, sitting outside, and having a great meal. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to.
Emmie· 6 months agoThe place is cute and the waiters are really nice.. but the pasta with meatballs was unfortunately giving ikea cafeteria. No matter the amount of salt I added, I couldn’t get a bit of flavor out of the sauce or the meat.
David Gualotuna· 4 months agoI always visit the one in Soho, good to see one in Williamsburg. Kid friendly; they gave my daughter a puzzle, menu to color, and sticker game. Food is delicious and love the brunch options.
